Oh, Silvarus. I think I totally have a crafter crush on you. Not only did they agree to have me review for them, but Rickard of Silvarus patiently walked me through each step of their process as he handcrafted me my very own toy. He even sent pictures of the steps. Swoon.
Silvarus makes sure to sand the wood completely smooth (of course) before adding at least 10 layers of finish, followed by polishing and touch-ups. The result is a glass-smooth surface that I can’t believe is actually wood!
A little bit about it: This particular Double Drop was made with maple, has a high sheen, and has been tested to be waterproof, like all of Silvarus’s toys. It’s roughly 9 inches long with two heads that are about 4 3/4 inches around. The toy has a slight curve to make G-spotting easier.
What I loved: The color is beautiful and the finish is astounding. When I took it out of the box I was simply in awe of the nearly white color and the reflective sheen across the toy. Oh, yes, I thought to myself. This is very, very good.
The Double Drop in maple wood is extremely light in the hand. At the moment, it is probably one of the very lightest toys I own, and it’s what will keep me coming back to use it. Even though I can’t claim the shape is particularly ergonomic (few toys are), the lack of heft makes it easy to maneuver and cuts way down on fatigue.
The two heads are simply delightful. They are shaped every so slightly different than each other, with one being slightly more curved and long, but the difference wasn’t particularly discernible. In use, both ends felt the same to me, but they both felt good. The rounded head and gentle curve hit my G-spot easily, and the length was perfect for thrusting. Orgasmic? Yes. Yes, it is. The smooth round heads made it hard not to hit good spots, which is exactly what I look for in a toy.
What I didn’t: If I could change one thing about the Double Drop, I would say I’d want one of the heads to be significantly different than the other. I like double ended toys because they are often like having 2 toys in one, but this is closer to the same toy twice. However, Silvarus does offer other toys to fit that description.
Final thought: The Silvarus Double Drop sells for $70, but will see a price increase starting June 1st due to increase in production costs. Is it worth the asking price? Oh, yes. Rickard’s handcrafted pieces are beautiful enough to be left out as sculptures, but functional enough to claim a place among other amazing G-spot dildos.
